Can You Make Extra Money From Non-Organic Traffic?

When people start blogging for money, many have the goal to get as many organic traffic as they can. Organic traffic (those that come from search result) is of course valuable since you know that they come to your site for a reason. Not because you’re related to them but because they’re searching for something using a certain keywords, and you happen to have that keywords mentioned somewhere in your site. And if what they’re looking for is not exactly what they’re looking for, they’ll start clicking on your ads (if you have Adsense in place). So as more and more people coming to your site from search engine results, more and more clicks can be generated, and you get more money.

Organic Traffic or Non-Organic Traffic? That’s basically the simple formula of it. And that’s why many bloggers strive to learn and implement all SEO techniques that they know, marketing their site relentlessly, linking back using targeted keywords and so on. All for the purpose of getting organic traffic

But what happens if you don’t get as many organic traffic as you wanted? What will happen if you got slapped by Google, your site is placed in the sandbox and given 0 PR? Is all hope lost? Or can you still make money from blogging?

It turns out that although you don’t get enough organic traffic, you can still make money from your blog. Those who got slapped by Google have already proven it. Organic traffic only matters when you want people to click on your ads. But if what matters to you is the traffic, no matter where it comes from, then there’s a chance for you to generate income through other means

How can you do it? When you’ve become popular and you’ve established a list of loyal readers, organic traffic matters less. People will typically come to your site from your contacts’. They will talk about you in their blogs, and their readers will come to your blog and in turns become your readers. This type of traffic will normally stay high for a long time since those people normally keep returning back to your site. If your traffic is significantly high, you can make extra money by selling ads, whether it’s text ads or banner ads. You can approach the advertisers directly, or they will come to you without you doing any work at all.

Imagine selling one ads spot for $100. You can easily get $1000 per month just by putting 10 links or banners on your site, and that’s it. Wait until the end of the month and check your bank account. If you’ve already established yourself in the blogging community, people will listen to your advice no matter what. This is the opportunity to gain from affiliate programs. Find a product that you can review, and promote them to your readers. Most of them will buy it.

To add more to your income, why not offer paid review? Don’t register with ReviewMe, but instead ask your reader to go to you directly. This way, you don’t have to pay anybody any commission, and you get all the money to yourself. The higher your traffic goes, the higher the price you can set.

In conclusion, organic traffic is not the only source to make extra money online. Other sources of traffic are also valuable in making yourself stands out from the crowd. Established yourself as an expert in what you’re doing, gain people’s trust, make yourself popular and you’ll also be making money even with less traffic from search result.
