Make Money Using Paypal - Scam or Not?

If you’ve done niche blogging for quite a while and done your research, you might’ve noticed that among the most profitable keywords nowadays are make money, make money online and make money from home. However, I found out recently while searching for long tailed keywords under ‘make money’ category, the most searched keyword is make money using paypal. Try and do it yourself using the seo book keyword suggestion tool and type in ‘make money’. You will see that make money using paypal is top on the list with Google daily estimate of 920 searches.

When I did a little research on this issue, it turned out that there is a chain letter (possible scam?) circling around the net, promoting a $6 make money using paypal scheme. It claims that the scheme even appeared in Oprah. Now I don’t watch Oprah so I don’t really know if this is true or not. Well here is the excerpt of the email so you can judge it yourself

Transforming $6 into NON-STOP INCOME thru PayPal

———————————————————— ——————–

MAKE MONEY FAST USING PAYPAL!

Here’s a legal way to bring in thousands & thousands of extra income using a great little website service called PayPal!
IT WAS PROVEN on Oprah AND is COMPLETELY LEGAL!!!

You Can Laugh at Money Worries - if You Follow This Simple Plan!
This is an opportunity for people who would like to work at home and have computer experience and are willing to invest time to get the lifestyle you have been wanting!
READ ON: Read this entire message carefully! (Print it out or download it.)
I found this on a bulletin board and decided to try it a little.
STEP 1:
Take a few minutes to join Paypal: paypal.com The Internet’s most trusted Internet banking system for your future income. When creating your Paypal account make sure you use the same Email address as your user name in the list below so people can send money to your account.

STEP 2:
Once you have a Paypal account running; use Paypal to post $1 to EACH of the 6 Email Addresses below because you pay people with an email address in Paypal. To do this you may need to use a credit card, which is very easy, and secure so nobody but Paypal may see it. If you don¹t have a credit card show this great lucrative offer to someone that has one and get them to help you pay the $6. What you are doing is creating a service. This is absolutely legal! You are requesting a legitimate service and you are paying for it!
Like most of us I was a little skeptical and a little worried about the legal aspects of it all. But I looked around and did some homework and found it was perfectly legal. Here are the 6 individual Email addresses that you have to send $1 to through Paypal for this to work properly and for you to receive money. (If you don’t send the money and decide to post the message with your name in it anyway, Paypal will instantly pick this up and
terminate your account, immediately, besides the other penalties!! If you did this you could get into serious trouble because it is fraud. (So follow the instructions and post the $6 and you will make lots of money with no hassles.)Now send $1 to each of these
following email - addresses through your paypal account: (Just in case you still haven’t one yet, use this link to open one in your name) paypal.com and pay $1 to each the following 6 email- addresses. In the message box type in Please add me to your mailing list - NOTE: if a paypal account on the list is closed, just skip it and go on to the
next email in the list.

Here is the latest set of emails:

1. xxxxxxxxxxxxxx
2. xxxxxxxxxxxxxx
3. xxxxxxxxxxxxxx
4. xxxxxxxxxxxxxx
5. xxxxxxxxxxxxxx
6. xxxxxxxxxxxxxx

STEP 3:
Now take the #1 Email Address off the list that you see above, move the other Email Addresses up (6 becomes 5, 5 becomes 4, etc.) and add Your Email Address as number 6 on the list.

STEP 4:
Change anything you need to, but try to keep this article as close to the original as possible. Now, post your amended article to at least 200 newsgroups (there are thousands of groups). And email your message to as many people you can But remember, the more you post and email the more money you make!

Sounds true? I don’t know. Sounds like a serious scam to me :D

If you decide to skip that scheme, here are some of the more reputable ways to make money using paypal:

  1. Sell your stuff through ebay, and use paypal for all the transactions
  2. Create a blog and sell ebook from your blog using paypal
  3. Involve in affiliate products and sell them using paypal
  4. In short, use every possible means to make money online, but all the transactions must be done using paypal

THAT’s how you MAKE MONEY USING PAYPAL - the truly legit and non scam version

Yes it is a scam. It is the definition of a pyramid and virtually the same as many of the chain letters you might get. There is no product being sold.
Note that paypal would probably cancel accounts that do this once they find out.

The second method is only different from the first if you are actually providing a true and useful service or product to the end user. Otherwise, they can be a pyramid also. I know you are referring to selling an actual product, but just want to be clear.

I have seen this some time back. This is a viral technique that was featured in Oprah’s show. Wonder if it still works today.

I actually DID this and it IS true! It does work - So all you cynics trying to sell something else - go and check it out! It is PAY PAL verified too.

Maybe it’s a scam. So we should be careful.

It works if everybody buys everything the email says and blindly copy and give $1 to all the people in the list. This chain email scheme only gives benefit to the people on top of the chain (or pyramid).

It’s like begging people in more than 200 newsgroup to each give you $1. Imagine if 1 newsgroup contains 200 members and everybody is surprisingly willing to give you $1. You can make $40,000 easily. And that is just 1 level of the chain. Multiply that with 6 levels of chain (until your name finally out of the list), you do the math.

If I get this, I’ll just say, thank you for your $1 but that’s the end of the chain :D
