News for Current and Future Bloggers

Skimming through some of the news pages today, I ran across a number of interesting reports which, in certain degree, affect the current and future bloggers as well. So, let’s start with the good bit first

Good News

1. The man dubbed internet ‘Spam King’, Robert Soloway, has been arrested in the US today. Well I would say well done to the US authority for that. This man probably has been spamming my inbox for quite some time, and yours too, although there are other spammers still lurking out there. Imagine having to check all those bulk mail and spam folders everytime we log in to our email accounts. I know John Chow is having a problem with that.

I wonder what software did this Spam King use? Maybe I can use it to promote my site. LOL. Just kidding!

Let’s hope that more spammers will be prosecuted. Come on, think of a better way to market your products. Don’t spam. Spam is bad mmkay?

2. Google goes ‘offline’. I think this is a good news for those who can’t get connected to the internet all the time, travellers, commuters and the like. There’s a plan that Google wants to make this Google Gears application as an open source software. IF that is going to become a reality, I hope somebody would enhance it into something that can allow us bloggers to blog while being offline. That’s to make sure we can keep our constant rate of article production even though we’re off for a holiday. Yes, bloggers need some time off too.

Don’t Know Whether It’s Good or Bad

Motorola unveils 4000 job cuts and IBM is doing the same too. This is probably a good reason to start thinking on making money online. Who says having a job in a company means your income is steady and secured? Somehow I tend to agree with some of the points listed out by Steve Pavlina on reasons why we should never get a job. Contrary to popular belief, apparently having a 9-to-5 job is not so secure anymore. Take this news for example. They can sack you anytime they want. Why? Because they’re the boss. You’re working under somebody. And if that somebody says these two sacred words “You’re fired!”, that’s the end of your career. Goodbye and good luck! So start planning from now, or maybe start monetizing your blogs and websites. Who knows what will happen in the future?

Actually both news are good for bloggers! Meaning more lay off peoplea now getting their own blogs, and so the blog medium will be strengthen even more. Blogging off-line? Hmm… ain’t our OS already let us do whatever off-line without connection to the Internet? Meaning it sucks to be off-line period? Or maybe I have no idea of what Google new idea is all about!
