Ranked higher for ‘Make Extra Money’

I was supposed to report this earlier but good for me, the result is still more or less the same. Back in early September, while I was relieved from my blogging activity, I did check my ranking for the keyword ‘Make Extra Money‘. Lo and behold! To my surprise, I was on page 2 for Google UK. That was quite an achievement for this blog since it’s been up and running for just 3 months at that time.

At the beginning of this month, with my very low blogging activity, I checked again. And there I was, still on page 2. But looking at my ranking from other countries, some of them were really good, like ranked #1 in Google Malaysia, and first page for most of the South East Asian countries. Woohoo! Know what that means?

Yup, apparently more clicks have been generated as well, and I’m pretty sure that most of them came from Google. This was confirmed when I looked at my Google Analytics result. Before this, most of my traffic came from referring sites such as mybloglog and stumbleupon. But now 60% of the traffic comes from Google organic search result. Guess what’s the most popular keyword people searched for to arrive at my site? Make Extra Money! It finally surpassed my most popular keyword search ‘paid typist scam‘, but both of them are still competing very strongly for the first place :D

No, I’m not making hundreds of dollars every month, still far from that target. But this is really a great progress. Had I been actively posting articles for this blog, I’m sure I can push myself up the ladder more and appear in Google.com first page pretty soon. But the best thing is, the blog is generating a stream of income every month, with very little effort from my side.

I’ve also got another blog, which only have 2 posts since I started it in July, targeting a specific niche AND quite a difficult one I should say. Well, before Google updated their pagerank, that blog was on page 4 and I was pretty pleased with that. Now I can’t find the blog in Google anymore with the targeted keyword. Need to do something about that too.

Moral of the story : Learn from the pros, work hard, apply everything you know and pray to God - you’ll achieve the seemingly impossible target in no time. I’ll reminisce about my strategies that brought me in this position in the next few days and share it with you. In the meantime, keep on blogging!
