Why Did You Choose Your Blog’s Niche?
I was asking myself the other day this question. Actually, I can’t really remember why did I choose to set up a blog about making money. I can’t remember what triggered me to do it. But one thing that I’m sure of is, John Chow’s blog has played some part on it. So you can probably say, it’s because of his blog that I decided to do the same, but not necessarily.
If I can remember correctly, I was about to blog about something else. And the person who persuaded me to make money online (or using AdSense in particular) was a friend from Malaysia who makes $300-$400 from his airline route map website. I did a lot of research beforehand, taking his advice and reading a few ebooks that he gave me. I listed out several of my ideas but never came up with something worthwhile to start with.
Somehow along the way, I decided to blog about making money online and offline. Little did I know, thousands of bloggers out there were thinking and doing the same thing. Now, was that a bad move from my side? It’s still too early to tell. This blog is getting traffic, and is making money slowly, although not as lavishly as others, but still there’s something beneficial for me and others who come to this site (I hope it IS beneficial to you).
At first, I might be thinking of making money from this blog. But now, I don’t think that’s the main reason. I’m currently just concentrating on sharing my experience on making money online and offline. As long as I can help others, I’ll be happy enough to blog everyday. I think it’s time to materialize all those ideas I have back then and start sorting out my strategies and aims once again.
So for all my readers, have you ever asked this question to yourself? Why did you choose to blog about what you’re blogging right now? If you have the chance, would you start again and do something else? Do you think what you’re doing right now is worthwhile or a complete waste of time?
